The Balochistan Rural Development Academy, scattered over an area of 23 acres with magnificent looking building, residential accommodations, and a hostel having 34 rooms was conceived in 1972 to cater to the training requirements of Integrated Rural Development program by offering training courses to village and markaz councils and cooperative societies in Balochistan. Since then the philosophy, at national and provincial levels, to serve the rural area and that too at grass root level took various turns but the purpose and activities at the academy remained unchanged and it continued to offer training programs to develop human resources for government department/s elected representatives and other organizations responsible for community development.
The Mission of the academy is stated to provide knowledge and education on various important subjects and issues, particularly, in the area of local government system, to people who are involved in the development of the province and the nation at large.
Keeping the mission in view the academy’s goal is set to develop the capacity of the elected representatives and functionaries in the local government of Balochistan by providing them with guidance and training in the local government system and other subjects of extreme importance.
